DILATED PEOPLES MEMBERS SOLO PROJECTS & DVD RELEASE

Now releaved from the confines of a major label, each member of Dilated Peoples are looking at solo projects to be released independently within the next year or two. Evidence has already kicked things off with The Weatherman, which drops today on ABB Records. Following up later this year will be The Red Tape Instrumentals, on Decon Media. Evidence also will team up with Alchemist for a collaborative project tentatively called The Closers, set for a 2008 release on ALC Records.

"Rakka has his album called Crown of Thorns and Babu is doing Duck Season 3, both are ridiculous," said Evidence. "We are helping each other out and we are putting out a DVD later this year and still doing shows. The DVD is called Release Party celebrating our release from Capitol. It's coming out on Decon Media this summer."

Meanwhile, DJ Babu also has a Nature Sounds project called The Beat Tape Vol. One, set for an April 3rd release, while frequent Dilated collaborator, Alchemist, also has an instrumental project Rapper's Best Friend, dropping April 24th on Decon Media

"There are a lot of things are happening but we are still showing unity within the group, but it's time to branch out. When we come back as Dilated in 2008 it will be that much stronger," said Ev.
